Polly Ruddick is the Director of the LFUCG Office of Homelessness Prevention and Intervention. She has worked in human services for over 15 years from the front lines to academic research. She has dedicated the last eight years of her career to ending homelessness with research based best practices and innovative solutions. At the heart of every work day lays the truth of working with such a vulnerable population, “A person should never have to change who they are before they are given what they need. Housing is a basic right.” She is originally from Richmond, Kentucky and has lived in Lexington for the past two years. She is married and has one handsome baby boy.

My favorite childhood park memory is rolling down the hills in the sun over and over again—laughing until it hurt.
